The Role

Decmil's projects vary in scope, however, usually include storm water, drainage, culvert installation as well as bulk earthworks, pavement, and road construction.

Due to ongoing growth within our business, we are looking for experienced Project Engineers to join our regional FIFO project teams.

As the Project Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate with Managers and Superintendents on Engineering, temporary works, scheduling and status of the project.
  • Provide overall progress reports and other reports related to schedule and cost as required by the Project Manager.
  • Provide general technical assistance to supervisory personnel.
  • Interpret engineering documents and drawings for field personnel.
  • Assisting the Project Lead to complete works in accordance with the contract documentation and Decmil standards and procedures
  • Supporting the Project Lead in the planning and management of project deliverable's to ensure all project requirements are met
  • Maintaining the monitoring of project progress, costs, safety and QA / QC procedures
  • Maintaining document control registers and ensure that current copies of quality system
  • Assisting in the award of contracts with the drafting of, scope of work, work methodology, inspection and test plans, safety and environmental plans.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent;
  • Minimum 4 + years’ experience in the construction and engineering industry;
  • Sound technical engineering knowledge and understanding;
  • High level of communication, written and interpersonal skills;
  • Sound computer literacy skills;
  • Willingness to work on a family friendly FIFO Roster of 14/7 OR 10/4 (depending on project)
