About the Role

Due to ongoing growth within our business, we are looking for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our Decmil team.

As the Environmental Advisor your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Contribute to the continual improvement of the Decmil ISO 14001 accredited Environmental Management System, including;
  • The development & revision of Construction Environmental Management plan and supporting sub plans.
  • Development & implementation of the Erosion & Sediment control Plan and revision as works progresses
  • Work collaboratively with the project partners to ensure that the environmental requirements are understood and adhered to.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the project construction team, as well as external stakeholders
  • Undertake inspections, and implement site monitoring programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, approval conditions and client requirements
  • Deliver environmental training for Project personnel.
  • Investigate and report environmental issues as they occur and recommend corrective actions as required
  • Monitor and review any environmental issues or events to undertake further investigations or follow-up actions to achieve positive and enduring outcomes.
  • Undertake regular works methodologies to identify opportunities for improvement to provide technically robust and cost-effective recommendations and solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Environmental team to share knowledge and learnings.
  • Provide timely information and practical advice to the team to ensure effective management, implementation, adherence and compliance with environmental working plans, environmental advice, permits and approval conditions.

What We Are Looking For

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
  • Experience in a similar role within the civil engineering / construction or resources sector
  • Experience in Erosion and Sediment Control, or equivalent
  • Understanding of Environmental legislation and statutory planning approval processes
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills including negotiation, conflict resolution and liaison with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
